Cyberattack on the official air raid alert source: what it means for eTryvoga

Updated 2 November 2026, 02:00 Kyiv time

UPD 2 November, 00:15: alerts are back

The official alert source works correctly again. Air raid alert and all-clear notifications are back, and the map shows current alerts again.

Because of the attack on the official alert source, we temporarily stopped sending air raid alert and all-clear notifications, and colours on the map could differ from the real signals.

Fake notifications from the hijacked «Povitriana Tryvoha» app: radiation danger, a “nuclear alert”, a chemical threat and street fighting in Kyiv
Fake notifications sent by the hijacked «Povitriana Tryvoha» app on 1 November, 22:47–22:49. None of these threats were real.

All notifications work as usual

eTryvoga notifications about air raid alerts, missiles, attack drones, guided bombs, shelling, explosions and other important information keep coming as usual.

What happened

On 1 November at about 22:48 Kyiv time, «Povitriana Tryvoha» — the official air raid alert source that eTryvoga also uses — was hit by a cyberattack. False red alerts appeared across almost all of Ukraine. The Air Force said the app was likely subject to hostile interference and that there is no radiation threat.

What we did

The false alerts reached eTryvoga too and were sent as notifications. We removed them, restored the map to its state before the attack, and switched off automatic alerts from the official source while the attack lasted.

Where things stand

On 2 November at 00:15, once the source was working correctly again, we switched automatic alerts back on. The map and air raid alert and all-clear notifications work as usual.

What to do

As always, follow the sirens where you are and the official channels of the Air Force and local authorities. Don’t open suspicious links if they appear in apps. News is in our Telegram.
